About Qigong

In understanding health, the ancients drew upon the discoveries of many martial artists, enlightened masters and healers. The result of this investigation was the development of Qigong and Tai Chi in China. Qigong (pronounced Chee Kung) is an ancient healing art practiced for thousands of years in the East to promote health, vitality and resistance to disease. Tai Chi is Qigong plus a self defense component. Qigong, which literally means ‘working with energy', is a series of simple postures, breathing patterns and movement exercises that anybody can learn. These exercises feel good to practice and can rapidly transform your energy level and overall health.

Adam doing Qigong

While it may take years to become a master of Qigong or Tai Chi, it is straightforward to learn the basic exercises of Qigong for self-healing and enhanced vitality. In the East today, Tai Chi and Qigong masters are famous for their health, strength and vitality, even at a very advanced age. In recent years scientists have verified many of these health benefits, as well as the ability of Qigong masters to transmit healing energies from their hands. In China and the west, many people are turning to Qigong to aid in the treatment and prevention of chronic disease and the maintenance of vibrant good health. The concept behind the healing power of Qigong is that the vibration of disease exists in the energy (Qi) within the body. With Qigong practice this vibration can be aligned with the vibration of health and vitality, in much the same way as a tuning fork will start to vibrate to the same pitch as another tuning fork that is struck and then brought into proximity to it. Any condition can benefit from the practice of Qigong, which results in a great feeling of well-being. Qigong has been a great blessing for me.

I have been studying and practicing Qigong since I was 18 years old. For a list of my teachers please see my resume. I have personally experienced how Qigong can generate renewed health, vitality and energy. I still practice Qigong and am amazed at the continued depth and exploration of healing that Qigong makes available. I have consistently seen that those patients who take up the practice of Qigong and persevere in it tend to get the results we are all looking for - namely vitality, well being and a normalization of all health conditions such that one is basically very healthy. Along with spiritual practice and periodic juice fasting or cleansing diets, Qigong, practiced daily, is one of the great and transformative keys to good health. currently I teach four Qigong classes a week:

South Bay area                                                              Blossom Hill Park

In the San Jose / South bay area we are currently meeting at Blossom Hill Park which is located between Shannon Road and Blossom Hill Road next to Blossom Hill elementary School.

Finding the correct location
Come to the Shannon Road entrance to the park. The Google map link does not recognize the park, but it will show you the intersection of Shannon Rd. and Del Carlo Ct. This park entrance is accessed from Del Carlo Court, which intersects with Shannon Road. Turn into Del Carlo Ct and take an immediate left into the parking lot. You will see a large redwood to the left of the parking lot. Underneath this redwood is where we practice Qigong.
